California State Parks News for Campers/RVers

There have been some changes to the the California Parks system that you might want to be aware of before making your reservations:

Beginning March 1, 2018, there will be a $10.00 fee for use of the dump station in most California State Parks.  If your site has full hook-ups then this doesn’t affect you, but if you didn’t have sewer at your site, it will.  This new fee will affect Carlsbad State Beach and San Elijo State Beach down in Cardiff among others.

Portable Propane Campfire

Alternative to banned traditional campfires

Reminder to Campers/RVers

Campfires are no longer allowed on the beach unless there is a fire ring.  You can have a portable propane, or butane fire.

February 28, 2018 Deadline:

The old Veterans and Disabled discount passes are being phased out and you cannot use them when calling to make reservations.  You can use them up until the end of February 2018 in person, at the park on a walk-up basis only.  Apparently the new cards have a bar code that will coordinate with the new system the parks have implemented.
